Churches of the Lower Columbia Basin Cluster G minister to our community and our world in numerous ways.

First Lutheran and Lutheran Church of the Master, both of Pasco, assemble Christmas Food Baskets each December and deliver them to area families.  Food items are collected from members and local businesses and then boxes are assembled and delivered by members of the congregations.

ELCA Disaster Response - When a major disaster strikes, local needs often outstrip the available local resources.  In such catastrophes the whole church marshals its resources and reaches out to help.  Local ELCA congregations generously give routinely to this effort, but when a disaster strikes, the outpouring of help is awesome.

Each year, Lord of Life Lutheran of Kennewick sends a group to locations in particular need to assist with rebuilding efforts.  Mission Possible 2008 completed their first trip in lat May/early June which was doing meaningful and needed work at Campbel Farms in Wapato.  The second and longer trip will be an Urban Plunge in Denver in late July/early August.  The group will stay in a church in downtown and work with agencies that are working hard for change among the homeless and working poor populations.  They will hear directly from marginalized people and work in homeless shelters, soup kitchens, or street teen programs.  This will be an inter-generational group--so they are looking for  young and old wanting to make a difference in their own life as they work to make a difference for others.  Please call AIM Heidi Cryer at Lord of Life Lutheran (509-783-5222) for more information.

Backpack Ministry @ Lutheran Church of the Master, 4820 West Court Street, Pasco - LCM will be collecting new or slightly-used backpacks for needy 9th graders.  The goal is to collect at least 150 backpacks for freshment at Pasco High School by the third week of August.  Donations of backpacks or checks made out to LCM Backpack Ministry may be dropped off at the church.

The offering from the 4TH ANNUAL LUTHERAN CHORAL EVENING (held on Friday, December 7, 2007) was sent to the "Voices of Hope" program.  This program is one that offers African women opportunity to be educated and to develop successful survival businesses.  A total of $1,550.25 was collected.

Lutheran Community Services Annual Brunch / Auction fundraiser was a great success!  Several hundred guests enjoyed wonderful food and fellowship while learning about Lutheran Community Services Northwest's ministry in the Columbia Basin.  LCS is very grateful to those who made a donation or pledge of support to the agency . . . and they say "Thank you."
